St Mary's Food Drive

The “Big Heart Committee” organized and set up our 2nd Annual St Mary’s Food Drive from October 18, 2010 to November 24, 2010. During this time we collected non-perishable food items. Employees were encouraged to participate with games and team challenges. A “Change In a Jar” was started for employees to contribute their loose change, it was so well participated employees were matching the amount in the jar. The event was rewarding and we were all in awe of the results at the end. It is a true experience of “Givers Gain”.
In 2009 we collected 928 lbs of food. In 2010 we collected 1,438 lbs. A pound of food, with the right nutritional balance, equates to one meal.
St Mary’s Food Bank disperses food across the state with 500 partner agencies at approximately 750 sites, to domestic violence shelters, dining halls, schools, churches, children’s shelters, food pantries, halfway houses, and senior centers.
We are so excited and look forward to 2011.
PDS Walks for the Cure

The theme for the 18th Annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure was IMPACT.MAKE ONE. The PDS Big Heart committee accepted the challenge and recruited a team of family and friends to form the PDS Milk Duds.
Sunday October 10, was an amazing morning. We joined 31,000 participants at Wesley Boman Plaza in downtown Phoenix as part of a 1K Walk that raised more than 2 million dollars.
We are proud to know our efforts will help support education, outreach, screening and treatment to people right here in Arizona.
Yard Clean Up In Anthem

On a hot Saturday May 8th, 2010, PDS teammates volunteered to clean front yards at Anthem. We supplied 2 fully staffed landscape crew trucks and equipment, along with 8 volunteers from the corporate office. PDS cleared 31 of the 108 total yards completed! A special shout-out to Dawn Engel and Ambi Corniel for seeking out Board members and interacting with them, staying professional and positive, even through the heat, sweat, and dirt! Thanks to all involved who volunteered their time to keep one of our clients' properties looking its best.
